Bassi Falls CA- FURY! Backpacking Eldorado National Forest- Sierra Nevada Waterfalls-hike Lake Tahoe

I’ve been to Bassi Falls many times. I wanted to show you folks what it’s like, if you’ve never seen it. Two miles Pretty easy hike. Let’s go check it out. OK. Now I’ve got the backpack on. My plan is to … hike to Middle Bassi Falls. So I’ve been to that one before but … This is a new route for me. So …. Let’s see if we can get up there. Okay so … from here I think it’s … Three miles I think it’s three miles from here. I make a wrong turn. And before I realized that … I have hiked over a mile of steep uphill climbing. I really really really don’t want to go all the way back down and then all the way back up again I am hoping this road will take me back through Crossing all my fingers and toes. So I made the right decision In fact, I think that was the proper way to go to begin with This other road looks kinda brushy. That would not have been good. There is an old road there, but kinda overgrown. We’ve climbed 1400 feet. Now we need to drop off this road, and down 700 feet to the waterfall. Hope I can get there Kind of fun so far. Little brushy at the top, but it’s opened up a bit. Now we’re going down, down, down Check out this tree. Almost seems like there’s a path here. The waterfall’s right there. It’s not a big one I think they want to cross the creek. That would be kind of stupid though. They must have come up from the big waterfall. All this way. I’ve done that before. Looks like they’re going back down to the big waterfall now. And I’ll be all by myself again. I am sure they are wondering how I got across though. Some bear poop here at my campsite I think this must be how they get down to the water. Right through my campsite. Okay, good morning. I’ve climbed back up the mountain from the creek to the road. So I need to climb up this road to try and find this new waterfall I think it’s going to take at least an hour and 1100 feet, I think. So … it seems that the mosquitoes are out this morning. There were no mosquitoes last night. All right. All right, here we go. Finally hit the snow. 7000 feet. Strange There’s some bear tracks on this snow Well that didn’t work. I gave up. It was too hard, and I ran out of time. But … It was a nice hike and at least I got a nice view. So … Downhill … back to the car.

  7. I've hiked to Bassi several times but not without tons of snow on the ground so it was great to see it in summer. As always, an enjoyable vid so thank you! By the way, what brand hiking boots do you wear?
