Lifehacks for Kids ♪ – Hi, I’m Gillian and today
I’ve invited a special guest. I have my sister, Angeline. – Hi. – We just got back from
filming our new show and we’re super excited for
you guys to check it out. – It’s called Lifehacks
for Kids On the Road, where we take you on
some crazy fun adventures that inspire the hacks
we make along the way. We swam with sharks,
scared me so much. – Oh my gosh. – Trust me, it was the
coolest thing ever. Flew in hot air balloons, and
we even got to get made into our own video game characters. And we’re so excited to share
our adventures with you. – What was your favorite part? – Mmm, my favorite
part was going zip lining in Catalina Island. – So, we’ve thought of some
hacks to make sure that you all watch 10 episodes of
Lifehacks for Kids on the Road. Here are our Snuggle
up and get cozy hacks. This first hack will make sure you’ll be as
comfortable as can be. – While keeping your hands free. – It’s our Snug as a
Bug in a Rug Snuggie. To make one Snuggie,
you’ll need 2 blankets, a hot glue gun, and scissors. So, you take your blanket
and the first step is put that around you. And then, you stretch out
your arms like all the way. Right here, and right here, is where you make the
snips with your scissors. Scissors please. Thank you. Cut two holes in
your first blanket where you want your arms to go. – I feel like a tie dye queen. – You are. – Thank you. Now what are we gonna do? – Well, we’re going
to make the sleeves. We have another
blanket, another one, and then we’re going
to cut it in half. Then cut it in half again. And now we’re going to glue the ends together
to make a sleeve. You can adjust the
size of your sleeve by folding it once
before you glue it. Glue the ends together. Keep the glue side
down, and try it on. Do the same for the other side. – So cozy! – I know, right? Make two two-inch cuts
right here and right here. (laughs) To attach your arms
onto your blanket, you put the sleeve inside the
hole you made for your arm. And you wanna make sure
that the seam is down. Now flip it over and
glue the flaps down to the inside of the blanket. You’ll do that on
the other side, too. – These are so cozy. – I know. Well, this next hack
is hot off the press. It’s our Heart Warming Heating Pad. To make one heating
pad, you’ll need: rice, a funnel, a
sock, and scissors. Rice, please. Pour your rice into the sock. You can use a funnel. Fill it up until there are about two fists of fabric
left at the end. Now all we have to do is tie it. You can make it a double knot. Cut fringe into the top. Heat it up for one to two
minutes in the microwave. – Mmm, so nice. This heating pad doesn’t
take long to warm up to. – Oh, brother… sister. – Hey Angeline, can
I borrow your scarf? – If I can borrow yours. – Sure! Great, it’s time
for our next hack, our Scarf to Slipper flip. To make one pair of
slippers, you’ll need: an old scarf, an old
shoe, a hot glue gun, a permanent marker, a ruler,
scissors, and a cutting board. Trace the outline of your
shoe onto your cutting board. Then trace that
outline with hot glue. Fill it in, in a waffle pattern. The more layers of
hot glue you add, the more padding you
have on your sole. Peel the glue off of your
cutting board using your ruler. – Squishy, jiggly sole. – Cut a strip of fabric that’s three times as
long as your sole. And then one more… three. So, right about this long. – Here. – Cut the strip a little
wider than your sole. Lay your sole down
on the strip of scarf with the toe about one
finger from the edge. Glue it down. Fold the long sides
over and glue them. Then, glue the toe. Put some glue down
and fold it over. Then glue the sides again. Fold it over one more time. And then glue the sides
again except on the halfway. Glue the sides a little
looser this time. This is where your feet will go. Now I’m going to tuck
in the ends right here by the toes so that it
looks more like a shoe. – Okay. – It doesn’t look like a square. Turn the whole thing over. Roll the ends of the fabric and put some glue to
hold the roll in place. Feel it! – Wow! – It’s so cozy. – It is cozy. It’s like having a
scarf on your feet. – That’s exactly what it is. Add traction to the
bottom with hot glue. Make one for each of your feet, and one pair for your sister. These hacks are sure to
make you a couch potato. – So tune in every Saturday – Starting March 3rd at 8:30pm EST – On Universal Kids TV Channel Is there such a thing
as being too cozy? – I feel like we’re at
maximum cozy capacity. – True.
