[phone ringing] [Harper babbling] [laughs] Hello, and welcome back to my channel. This is the reality of
filming when you have, a toddler! [dog barks] Hey, no barking please. And two dogs. Okay, I’m sorry if you hear rattling of Puffs in a little snack container, because she’s just toddling around helping herself to everything. Don’t touch, hot. So today I’m going to share with you some of the designer handbags that I will never purchase no matter the hype. And I saw this going around and I thought it was a really interesting video, but I didn’t want to limit
it to a certain number. I just wanted to talk about the ones that really stood out to me, and so. [laughs] [Harper babbling] You want to come sit? [Harper babbling] Do you want to come sit? [Harper] Up. Yeah, come here. Oh my gosh, you’re so big. Okay, there we go, going to hang out here. All right, so the first one I want to talk about is the Dior saddlebag. Now this was like a
trend in the ’90s, and– Leeloo! And Leeloo. It was especially in the late
’90s, it was made very popular by Sarah Jessica Parker
in Sex And The City. Okay, give her a kiss. Give Leeloo a kiss, okay. Now we go down, okay. [Harper] Down! Or you want to come up, okay. [laughs] Leeloo, Leeloo! That is Leeloo. What does your shirt say? Smart, pretty, strong, hashtag thanks mom. Button. Button! Where’s your button? Tickle, tickle, tickle, tickle. Tickle, tickle. [laughing] Button. Button. [laughs] So anyway, it was made very popular then, and of course we all know things come back about 20, 30 years later. The trends just keep cycling around. I just never digged that bag. I just don’t think it’s cute, I think it’s kind of ugly, actually. I think that it’s like
a design that’s so– [coughs] Mmm. [laughs] She’s faking me out
over here with the choking. It’s just a design that’s
so iconic from that period that it just looks like
you’re wearing a vintage bag. It doesn’t look like it’s been relevant or modernized or anything that makes it kind of like, exciting and reinvigorated. It just seems old and sad, still. I know a lot of people like that bag. Leeloo! And I like a lot of bags that other people think are hideous, so it’s perfectly okay if you don’t agree with me on these bags that I’m going to talk about. But anyway, that’s one bag that I just think needs to stay dead. Personally, I don’t think it’s cute. I think Dior had a very
clever and very successful influence or marketing
campaign whereby they gifted a whole bunch of bloggers,
and editors, and influences the saddlebag, and they kind of all unveiled it in like the same week. And so it kind of like
was just in your face. Mama. Saddlebag, saddlebag, saddlebag. [laughing] And I just think that that’s just, I don’t know, it just
worked for a lot of people, it just didn’t work for me. I just didn’t see it as very appealing. All right, so the next thing I want to talk about is pretty
much Celine anything. I think ever since, what is her name? -Phoebe?
-Mama. Phoebe, what’s her name, the
director of Celine that left? Ever since she’s gone I just
feel like the fashion house has kind of taken a downward trend. And I just think that a lot of the bags that people gush over,
the like, Celine box bag, and belt bag, and all these
other things, I’m like, ew, no. [Harper babbling] Personally, I don’t like ’em. I just think they’re overpriced. [Harper babbling] Because to me, they price
their bags very, very high. Mama. I am trying to film a video. [Harper babbling] Dog. You saying dog? Woo, woo, woo. You want me to know about a dog? The dog that lives over
in that house over there? So anyway, I just feel
like they’re not cute, and they’re not functional,
and they are overpriced for like, I think Celine
is trying to be in a tier that it’s not really
anymore, and so I think they need to either
bring their prices down, or just reinvigorate the whole leather goods offering right now. I just don’t think that
there’s anything very exciting. Only thing that’s kind of exciting and cute to me still is the Nano. [sniffs] [laughing] You’re sniffing my skin? My arm skin? [laughs] Uh-huh, okay. So I think that that’s cute in like, a really neon color, a really
bright pop of something that you wear crossbody, I
think that’s really cute. Okay, and the next thing
I want to talk about, this may not be very popular
for some of my friends here on YouTube, but J.W.
Anderson, I just don’t get it. Personally, I think all of it looks like, [Harper babbling] Like an ox ring, like around a nose, that should be around someone’s nose. [Harper babbling] I just personally I don’t think the style is very suitable to me. I personally just don’t think that’s it, I don’t want to say personal
a lot because I do feel like these things are guttural,
personal reactions to bags. Like, you either love ’em or hate ’em, and for me I hate ’em. [laughs] I just think that
they’re not very attractive for being a designer bag, and the
price point is just not there. [Harper babbling] You know, I think a lot
of companies that are kind of lesser known
also make bags that are same quality, similar
style, but not nearly the price tag that J.W. Anderson– She walked literally right
under the tripod just now. [laughs] That was skillful, I can’t do that. The last thing I want to
talk about is Senreve bags. I know that this is another, again, another example of a designer brand. Although, I’m not really
sure how designer they are because I mean, do you
just mark up a bag and then call yourself designer,
or say you’re like, Italian handcrafted leather or something and call yourself a
designer, and then work with a bunch of different influencers, and sponsor a whole bunch
of different videos, and then you’re a designer handbag brand? I don’t know, I think it’s cool that some of their bags are, like, you can interchange them into a
handbag versus a backpack. I think that’s really cool,
and if they hadn’t done this like, massive launch of awareness by sponsoring a whole bunch
of different influencers, I know this is like, very tongue in cheek for me to be saying,
since I am an influencer. God, I hate that word. If it’s- [Harper babbling] She’s back. [Harper] Up. Up. Say please. [Harper] Please. [laughs] I just don’t really- Moving right along. We’re still working with this, people. So the Senreve bags, I think I would’ve liked if they weren’t this massively, as I mentioned, I’ve already
mentioned it into the ground. Do I think that they’re cute? Yes. They have kind of this
tongue thing that hangs out that kind of makes it a little awkward, and the shape of the bag,
especially the one that I’m showing here on the screen right now, what it makes it cute
as a shape of a backpack doesn’t make it cute, like it sits funny on the body when it’s not
being used as a backpack. So I think although a really
great idea, and almost like, nearly excellent execution,
but just not quite. So yeah, I mean, if I
had discovered this brand on my own organically, and I
was like, yes, I love this, these are well made,
handcrafted, good price. I think I would have a totally
different take on that brand, but for what it is, I’m
just kind of like eh, no. I’ve seen it everywhere, I’m like, no. I’ve moved on, I’ve just moved on, and it didn’t inspire any kind of like, [gasps] I want that bag. I just feel like a lot
of it was pushed at me, and I was like, mmm, nope,
still not feeling it. Anyway, I don’t know how you
guys will take this video because it’s just being brutally honest. But I try to stay honest on my channel, and you guys are going to know that whether it’s something that
you don’t like to hear or not, I don’t know, maybe you agree. Comment down below. You’re allowed to disagree with me and be like, you know what, Kristina? Actually, I really love
those Senreve handbags, or I really love J.W. Anderson bags, and I have five of them. Regardless of your opinion, leave it down in the comments below. Let’s have a discussion, I’d love to know what you guys think. And even some of my fellow
YouTube friends here, I know that they have bags that are on this list, and I love
to hear their opinion of why they disagree with me. So if you disagree with me,
please comment down below, and if you agree, obviously do the same. Regardless of whether
you agree or disagree with my opinions, I would
love it if you would hit the thumbs up button
if you’d like to see more videos like this, kind
of luxury handbag related. I’ve been doing a lot of different content on my channel lately, and really, the thumbs up feature lets me
now what you like the most. Just ignore the thumbs down
button if you can at all. Yeah. Right. Okay, she’s coming over with
a crayon and a water bottle. All right guys, thank
you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video, and I will see you in my next one. Bye! Did you say bye? Bye. [laughs] Mmm, you’re so snuggly and
scrumptious, I just eat you up. [kissing]

  1. I think the Senreve bag you were talking about works for those who get around on foot a lot like some in San Francisco. I purchased the other style that is more like a version of a doctor bag, and really like that one (I am not a backpack person….yet). One of their crossover nags is pretty cool too because it can detach and become a bit of a clutch.

  2. Loved this video and baby Harper. Didn’t mind it one bit. 💕 Loved the personal honesty and feedback. We all have our individual opinions and Admire you sharing and dishing it out! Again, thanks for sharing!

  3. Loved the Vlog, Kristina!! Interesting on the bags, and I agree with you. 🙂 Awwwwww…..what made your Vlog extra special was cutie Harper being in it!! <3 <3 Adorable little Baby Girl….and such a joy to see. I did see Gidget scooting around in the background too….hee hee! She's a cutie too, along with Leeloo!! <3 <3

  4. Some of those bags I have never even heard of but I still love seeing and hearing what you like and don’t like and then when Harper is in the video, well you could have been reading the phone book and I still would have given you a “thumbs up”. She is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Even if I am not in to buying designer bags, I still like to know what is out there and what others think. Thanks for keeping it “real”.

  5. Omg! The video quality on this video is Amazing! I appreciate you actively improving your channel. From a long time follower💕

  6. Harper stole your thunder in this video lol ❤️ Designers think they can ride off their name alone and as consumers if we allow them they will and have for many years! I feel like Dior doesn’t have any fresh ideas anymore so they just pull out what worked 20 years ago and make it seem cool again and maybe that works for some but I don’t get it🤷🏼‍♀️

  7. Could not agree more!!! You have excellent taste. That JW bag is butt ugly and I can not get that ox look out of my head. Agree Celine is trying to be in the same category as Chanel or Hermès and they are not. I do love a cute Nano in electric blue. How stinking cute is Harper.

  8. Yes and Amen on everything you said! Especially the door saddle bag…so glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it is uuugggggly! Harper is such a doll baby.

  9. Kristina – I love the HD video with the out of focus background. It looks great (in my opinion). Your direct and down-to-earth vibe is wonderful. Harper adds so much fun and smiles!

  10. Completely agree with every bag! So refreshing to see an influencer be honest and not jump on the bandwagons or say nice things to get free stuff!

  11. Love this video so much! I’d love to see a video on handbags you thought you would love that you didn’t end up liking after purchasing. I can’t remember if you’ve done one like this before but if so I’m thinking it was a long time ago. Another video I’d find interesting is one on luxury handbags/brands that you want to try but haven’t purchased before.

  12. Yes I agree with this list!! The only thing I have come to kind of like is the Dior saddle bag with the different straps and customizing it!! But like you said they definitely should’ve reinvented it some kind of way!!

  13. Totally agree about the Senreve. It's following is so inorganic, they just flooded the market with influencers like Julia from GMG. Not into the Mansur Gavriel brand either.

  14. You read my mind!! Completely agree with every bag/brand you mentioned. Love, love, love your little assistant – Miss Harper is the CUTEST!

  15. I agree with your opinion of all four bags. I didn't care for the Dior Saddle bag even when Carrie loved them. It was so cute to see Harper in your video. Such a cutie.

  16. I have 6 Celine bags! But i can agree with the price point its espensiveeeee! Personally I like it because its not to the face ‘Hey I’m Designer’ i feel that the simplicity and minimal approach of Phoebe Philo what made Celine the Celine now.

  17. Love this video! The Dior saddle I admit I like in leather but would never pay that price. I’ll settle for a dupe from Amazon lol. I think you hit the nail on the head with Celine trying to be in a bracket that they’re not. (Luggage tote series aside) Their bags are not worth the price tag. The J.W. Anderson just looks cheap to me. Like something you’d pick up at Marshall’s. Senreve is odd and clunky.

The influencer push has the opposite effect on me, at least speaking on designer luxury terms. If they’re just handing out all these expensive “luxury” goods for free why should I spend my hard earned money to buy it? 🤷🏾‍♀️ With other products I don’t mind, but something about the designer handbags just makes me want nothing to do with it.

  18. Any bag with the logo of the brand all over the bag as a part of the design never did it for me. Everyone loves bags like that (DG, MK, LV, etc) but I guess it's just not my thing. I'm more of a simple and utilitarian handbag kind of girl.

  19. I’m sorry but the beginning of the video and in between there is a lot of disturbance. U r addressing the dogs the cute little baby and all over the place. Make video only when u r ready because we also have limited time to watch the video.

  20. The part where you said “do they just decide they are designer? With their Italian leather” Like YASSSS!!! I’ve been thinking the same thing lol.

  21. I am with you 100% idk what’s going on with the handbag designs but they’re kinda not doing it for me anymore.

  22. Omg. I love how you flat out say “I think it’s ugly.” I love that— That’s why you’re one of my top three favorite you tubers. I like the senra bag but I’ve never seen it before. Depending on the price I may say “it’s not cute for that price” lol

  23. So funny because I am completely unaware of Senreve and JW Anderson! Thank you for your cutie pie making all those appearances <3 <3 <3

  24. Agree to all you mentioned here! And yes especially Celine. I am appalled why everyone loves it? Overpriced for the designs they offer.

Love your baby she’s so adorable! And growing so so fast xoxo 😘

  25. "Do you just mark up your bag a ton and then call yourself a designer?" That's such a good summary of how I feel about Senreve

  26. I purchased several bags from Duluth Trading Company, they soften with age, can be passed down, are a good price point, they go on great sales. I can take everything to work with me in one. Their bags are worth a look see. Love to hear how you like the Samsung 10.

  27. The reason I don’t like the saddle bags is that I hate the way the fabric looks. I don’t know if they do leather versions because I’ve been so offput by the fabric. It looks like the ugly carpet purses my Mom had in the 90s. Shape is whatever, but ugh that fabric!!! 🤢 maybe it’s soft and luxurious in person but bless it, in pictures it looks like carpet.

  28. Literally only buying Hermès, Chanel, tods and polene bags at this point. Quite like Gucci mini marmont but that’s it. Most other brands, can’t stand, lack of quality, bad marketing etc etc

  29. I totally agree! When I see “influencers” with any product that everyone has gotten from a brand it totally turns me off.

  30. When my son was Harper’s age up until he was probably 5 years old he used to sniff my arms all the time!! Hilarious! Love all your videos! 🥰

  31. God Harper is cute!!! I've never really liked the saddle bag. I kind of find it cute now being bombarded with beautiful Instagram shots. But I try to see if I really love it longer term. I am not sure. btw I think both the box and the belt bag are from the Phoebe Philo era, actually they've been around for quite a few years. But I don't love the new Celine looks either – the tote bags of odd shape..

  32. Yeah I never really got on the Senreve train and I completely agree with you on the awkwardness of the shape and for me it just isn't that special. But I love everything about the Dior saddle bag; the shape, pattern, everything! Thanks for sharing and having Harper in the video was so much fun!!

  33. I 💯 agree new OLD design still OLD…i dont like it and i dont buying it at all..even i feels if i open the bag must smile 😃 too…wonderful video yes we need more thanks 🙏

  34. Harper is adorable! 🙂 I normally have very different opinions on these kinds of things but I actually agreed with all of yours, particularly the saddle bag! I didn't like it in the 90s and now with the crazy push and insane price tag it's an even bigger turn off for me than before and a very impractical shape in my opinion. And I've definitely thought the bull nose ring thing on the JW Anderson bags too. I really thought it was just me 😆😆

  35. YES on Senreve!!! I hate when youtubers/instagramers go nuts over this bag they received for free. It looks bulky and it's midrange designer at best.

  36. GIRL YAAAAS TO ALL OF THEM!! Especially the bloody Senreve bags, I just CANNOT! I despise them even more every time they are featured, the design the bulk it's all horrible and pretty much everyone I follow on YT has mentioned it at least once. I also equally despise the JW Anderson bags, I just don't get it. The Saddle bag I don't care about either way, it's okay but I don't love it or hate it, definitely hyped up though. And the new Celine lines are also blah. Since Phoebe Philo left, you're right, it just hasn't been the same and I normally love Hedi too! He was very disappointing with this first line but let's see what he does next, hope he rocks the boat a little more. And that little Harper! She's just like my GiGi who's a few months older, little rascals those girls! Get those snuggles in while you can cause my 4 year old definitely doesn't let me smooch him all the time😫 anymore, so sad. Love you!

  37. I agree with you to 200%
If I had to pay so much money for a luxury bag, at least it should look a bit attractive to attract my attention or functional!!

  38. Loved the reality touch with Harper! And of all your choices, the Senreve I think is REALLY nice and interesting – it’s on my list actually

  39. Yes, I totally agree with you on all of them!! Love it when someone honestly put it out there. And Harper is too cute🥰😘

  40. The most expensive purse I’ve got is a mk and Jessica Simpson for over $100
And to me Vera Bradley is also expensive I normally get them on sale though. what designer brand bags do you like?

  41. Agree almost with everything…except the Dior bag! Agree with everything else, specially the "Italian" designer bag…so true just sponsored a whole lots of videos and now they are some exclusive brand… anyways, Thank you for sharing dear! Your little baby girl is adorable. Much blessings! 🙂

  42. For $895 the Senreve bags better cure my arthritis and my weight gain. The doctor bag is kinda cute but it’s not $895 cute. I agree with you about the bags except the CD saddle bag. As you said though this is a video about bags you wouldn’t buy and I respect that and almost completely agree with you! ❤️

  43. Oh thank God someone finally spoke the truth about Senreve 😂
So tired of having that bag shoved in my face. I thought it was really odd when every influencer started pushing it, thanks for not doing that!

  44. I dont like those bags you mentioned too- I think bloggers also not like them so much but they paid to present them and they pretend they do.
