How to replace the bag on a Flymo Gardenvac

Hi, I’m Rory from eSpares. One of the most
common problems with Flymo garden vacs is a bag that will no longer fit onto the frame.
As you can see, it’s happened with this garden vac- the bag has just been man-handled
one too many times and the plastic has come all bent out of shape and so will no longer
fit into the frame. The good news is that it’s really, really easy to replace. Now,
safety first- always make sure that your garden vac is unplugged at the wall before you get
to work. There is a safety cut-out mechanism in the garden vac but you can never be too
careful so just make sure that it is unplugged. The first thing I’m going to do is just
remove the frame from the garden vac, really easy to do, you just press down here and it
comes away. So now we have the garden vac out the way, we just have the frame and the
bag. The bag is held onto the frame by clips which just run round the outside of the frame.
To unclip said clips, you’ll need a long, thin flat head screwdriver and you’ll just
need to get in there and unclip and just work your way around. Just keep working your way
round, one clip at a time. See we have the new bag, it’s actually a new and improved
version of the old bag, it’s got an outer skirt on it which is nice. And to fit the
new bag, you just do the exact opposite of what you did to remove the old one and fit
the holes into the teeth just like that and then work your way around. Once you’ve made
sure that the bag is fitted securely onto the frame and all the clips are fastened,
you just need to re-fit the frame to the garden vacuum. There you go, that’s how you replace
the bag on a Flymo garden vacuum. The frame is also available as a spare part if you damage
that. Frames and bags for all make and model of garden vacuum are available at the eSpares
website.
