Trimmer Repair – Replacing the Fuel Filter (Echo Part # 13120507321)

Hi, I’m Mark from ereplacementparts.com. In this video, I’m going to show you how to
replace the fuel filter on an echo trimmer. Maintaining your trimmer’s fuel filter is
an important part of its overall maintenance. The fuel filter filters out tiny particles
before they can make their way to carburetor. The openings in the carburetor is so tiny
that if you don’t keep a clean fuel filter on your trimmer, it’ll quickly become plugged. Replacing the fuel filter is easy to do and
we’re going to show you how. Fuel filters as well as many other parts can
be found on our website. Let’s get started.I’ll begin by removing the
air filter cover and the air filter. I’m doing this mainly so you can see what
we’re doing a little better, but also free up a little more room for you to work. Before we remove any of the fuel lines from
either the carburetor or the fuel tank, you want to make sure that you’ve drained the
gas from the fuel tank, otherwise it will leak as the fuel in the tank tends to be slightly
pressurized. I’ve already drained the fuel, so we can go
ahead and move on.I will begin by removing the fuel cap and then pulling the fuel line
and fuel filter from the tank. To do that, I’ll use this piece of wire that
I’ve shaped into a hook. Let’s grab the fuel line and then fish it
out of the tank. Now I’ll just put the fuel filter from the
fuel line and remove the ring clamp. Now we can install our new fuel filter. I’ll slide the ring clamp over the end of
the fuel line. I like to keep the ring clamp about a quarter
of an inch back from the end of the fuel line. Then, I’ll just press the fuel filter into
the end of the line and let the ring clamp right up over.Like that, and now I’ll insert
the fuel filter and fuel line back into the fuel tank, and secure the fuel cap. I’ll just reinstall the air filter and air
filter cover. That’s all it takes to replace the fuel filter
on your echo trimmer. If you found this video helpful, be sure to
give us a thumbs up and leave a comment.
